SPOTLIGHT CLUBS

Our campus has more than 90 active student organizations covering a wide range of interests. Among them, these featured clubs are officially recognized for their exceptional teamwork and high-quality activities this year. They show what student leadership and cooperation can look like within our community, and this page introduces their achievements and hard work.

Bi Roots & Shoots

Bi Roots & Shoots is a student-led compost club dedicated to soil regeneration and environmental education. By collecting cafeteria food waste and transforming it into real compost, the club conducts hands-on data analysis and research papers. The final product fertilizes our school's Xingyue Garden, completing a meaningful 'Trash-to-Treasure' sustainability cycle on campus.

The Observer

The Observer is a self-created journal jointly organized by a group of students who love humanities and the teachers of the School of Humanities. The students are responsible for all the work of reviewing, typesetting, printing and publicity. The Humanities journal aims to protect and let more people appreciate the charm of humanities and social sciences, and also provide an effective platform for students who wish to display their work. We have successfully published two seasons of the journal both online and offline, with more than 10,000 paper issues.

Investment Challenge Club

The Investment Challenge Club has been around for two years, with a focus on helping students improve their business knowledge and spark an interest in finance. We aim to bridge the gap between what’s learned in class and what’s actually done in the real world, offering practical, hands-on experiences.

We offer a mix of activities, from lessons led by experienced instructors and club leaders to discussions on finance-related movies, simulation games, and fun quizzes. Members also get the chance to attend social events and connect with the SIC Investment Competition, giving them the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in real situations. Through all these activities, our goal is to help build a solid foundation in finance, develop practical skills, and, of course, inspire a genuine passion for business.

Econ Forum

As the only NEC-certified club at GCGS, the Economics Forum provides students with systematic courses, comprehensive study resources, and expert competition coaching. Beyond academic preparation and past-paper practices, the club fosters an engaging learning environment through interactive quizzes and community events. Guided by award-winning seniors and enthusiastic peers, the Forum welcomes all students who are eager to broaden their economic horizons and enhance their skills.

Worry-relief Shop

Worry-relief shop is a concern about the physical and mental health of young people, aiming at solving problems for young people. Through the tree hole, many young people contributed to us, and our members gave reasonable and appropriate feedback on their problems and experiences. At the same time, we also use the WeChat public account to answer some questions commonly encountered by teenagers. In the future, we will continue to expand our influence and expand our account to various platforms to help more people.

Life Science Exploration Society

Founded in 2023 under the CASRA department of Guangdong Country Garden School, the Life Science Exploration Society (LSES) is a distinctive, student-led organization dedicated to theoretical research and academic expansion in biology. Rather than focusing on competition, LSES aims to cultivate diverse biological interests by providing members with access to cutting-edge academic lectures and doctoral-level resources. In its inaugural semesters, the society has hosted numerous academic seminars covering topics from cardiovascular pathology to medical history. Through partnerships with industry organizations, including biotech firms, LSES has also facilitated specialized seminars on bioethics and hands-on anatomical workshops. Looking forward, the society remains committed to delivering advanced on-campus lectures and securing external internship opportunities to prepare members for future leadership in the biotechnology field.

Kindergarten Volunteer Club

The kindergarten volunteer club has been established for many years and is dedicated to providing continuous companionship to children. In addition to teachers and classmates, it offers another form of interaction with them as they grow together. We are gradually expanding the forms of service, such as designing interesting courses and knowledge popularization for children. In the future, we will collaborate with more clubs to carry out diversified activities and continue to lead our members to contribute to society.

DMD

DMD is a creative and dynamic performing arts community dedicated to transforming imaginative ideas into compelling stage productions. Combining avant-garde theatre with sharp social commentary, the club utilizes satire and humor to explore real-world issues, inviting audiences to reflect while they laugh. More than just a performance platform, DMD serves as an inclusive, collaborative space that inspires student creativity. Here, every unique perspective is embraced, empowering members to co-create profound and engaging theatrical experiences.

AP Desert Afforestation Club

The AP Desert Afforestation Club, founded in 2019 by environmentally passionate and responsible AP students, is dedicated to environmental protection and public welfare. By December 2024, the club organized 5 tree-planting events in the Tengger Desert, planting 800+ trees and laying 3,000+ square meters of grass grids, with over 200 participants. The club also supports underprivileged children, aiding 500+ children in Northwest China, and donated over RMB 30,000 in supplies raised by core members. Many alumni have been admitted to top universities like Cornell and USC.

Senior Center Voluntary Club

The Senior Center Voluntary Club was founded in 2014 and has been running for nearly 11 years. Every year we run different service activities, such as moon cake donation, righteousness scissors, field research, and so on. We have made new changes this year. On the basis of the continuation of previous years, we have created new club activities, such as teaching the elderly to play Tai Chi and cooperating with a new activity with the Chinese Traditional Culture Club. We plan to go to Guizhou for field research during the summer vacation. Make the club run more colorful.
